As schools across the country are increasingly moving towards topic based learning as part of a creative curriculum, the demand on music co-ordinators from teachers in their school to find a variety of topic-related and world music resources is growing. WELB Music Service Interactive frees that demand, leaving you to do what you do best – inspire. And what’s more, this year WELB Music Service Interactive is completely FREE to Derry City Council schools and WELB instrumental tutors!
WELB Music Service Interactive has thousands of eLearning music resources to suit many topics, with suggestions for learning activities that will link not only to the Music curriculum, but to strands of Literacy, History, Geography and more, ideal for creative curriculum.
WELB Music Service Interactive gives you:
- Rich creative curriculum
- Searchable content – find music and content for many occasions
- Coverage of Northern Ireland Curriculum Programme of Study (Music, but also Literacy strands and other Cross Curricular)
- Flexibility – resources lesson planning but also support for teachers less confident with teaching music
- Tools to teach instruments that may not be familiar - ideal for running extra-curricular musical activities and for non-specialists
Access to these resources is normally by annual subscription to the Music Service. However, this year as part of our ongoing program of support for music education in WELB, and thanks to funding from ‘Achieving Derry - Bright Futures’ this invaluable resource is absolutely FREE of charge to schools in the Derry City Council area and for use by all WELB instrumental tutors.
