Vocal and Action songs
Children derive great joy and satisfaction through singing. They quickly learn that music expresses their feelings and ideas, and singing is one of the first experiences children have as creative and self-expressive beings.
WELB Music Service Interactive has an ever increasing library of vocal and action song resources helping children to understand different styles, techniques and repertoires. Action songs help to reinforce aspects of rhythm, movement and imagination through attractive tunes and lyrics, allowing children to bring out the expression in the songs.
Access to these resources is normally by annual subscription to the Music Service. However, this year as part of our ongoing program of support for music education in WELB, and thanks to funding from ‘Achieving Derry - Bright Futures’ this invaluable resource is absolutely FREE of charge to schools in the Derry City Council area and for use by all WELB instrumental tutors.
